Chris Hadley Consulting played a key role in a multi-disciplinary team, providing market research and marketing strategy support for a European company seeking to expand into a specific sector of the U.S. market. Having previously operated as an importer, the client aimed to establish a more formal presence, either through the acquisition of an existing company or by setting up a new business.
Chris managed a range of areas as part of a review of market conditions that would face the client. This included an overview of the market landscape, key industry dynamics and primary distribution channels. To support this, in-depth interviews were conducted with manufacturers, agents, and distributors already active in the market. Additionally, an evaluation of key downstream markets for the client’s products was carried out, with this again further enriched by targeted interviews. A competitive benchmarking analysis was also undertaken to assess the main players the client would likely encounter.
A key component of the study involved evaluating potential acquisition targets and formulating a market entry strategy. Three acquisition candidates were identified and thoroughly profiled based on their suitability and strategic alignment with the client’s goals. The study concluded with a recommendation on the most suitable acquisition target and outlined multiple market entry pathways, including cost assessments and revenue projections.
