Mobile Technology – UK – 2023

Chris Hadley Consulting was involved in a comprehensive project to explore the evolving landscape of mobile technology within the automotive sector. Recognising increasing consumer demand for access to advanced technology while on the move, the study aimed to identify key trends and their implications for original equipment (OE) and tier 1 and 2 suppliers.

The research delved into the current state of in-vehicle technologies, seeking to understand which features were most valued by car owners and what they hoped to see in future models. This aspect of the study was seen as crucial for suppliers and manufacturers, providing them with insights necessary to align their product development strategies with consumer expectations.

One of the standout findings of the research was the clear consumer preference for cars equipped with technology as a standard feature. Safety enhancements emerged as a top priority, with technologies aimed at protecting occupants receiving high marks from respondents. Additionally, features that supported communication and navigation were also highly valued, reflecting the needs of vehicle occupants to remain connected and informed while on the move.

In conclusion, the project provided vital data that could help shape the future of the automotive industry in the UK. For OE and tier suppliers, these insights suggested a significant market demand for vehicles that not only incorporate advanced technologies but do so in an affordable manner.
