Chris Hadley Consulting was involved as part of a global team in the review of the IFM (Integrated Facility Management) market across Western Europe. The review focused on the current size of the market and the future prospects for its development. A detailed report with forecasts by key FM sectors for major geographic markets was the main deliverable from the research.
A key part of the project were discussions with key figures in the IFM sector. Major suppliers of IFM services to the market were interviewed via telephone with aim of collecting both qualitative and quantitative information on both each company’s performance in this sector as well as wider market conditions.
The main findings of the research indicated the various stages in the development of the European IFM sector and the implications this is expected to have on future prospects. Mature markets such as the UK are characterised by sophistication but also by intense price competition. Many other markets are still developing although regional and local prospects were found strongly to be linked to government policies and the desire to outsource services.
